Demonic Illusions in Print!

Demonic Illusions paranormal book series by K.D. Reed

Man! This fall is full of excitement!

You read right! The entire Demonic Illusions series will be available in paperback this fall. Here are the details:

The entire series will be sold as a collection in paperback. To justify the production cost and to save a few trees (because trees are friends!!) I decided not to print the individual books separately. It just didn’t make sense to me. However, when you put the three together, it makes a perfect novel-length book. Bam! Just like that. I know a lot of my readers prefer a book in hand, so I opted to do it this way. Sadly, they have to be a little more patient than my eReader friends. But that’s okay! They’re nice people. And they deserve love and books to put on their shelves. The wait is almost over you beautiful people. Demonic Illusions will be in print this fall.

There will also be an eBook of all three in a “box set” type of situation. I know I like to have an entire series in one place. Convenience, aesthetics, whatever. It’s nice to have them all there.

Individual eBooks will be available too. So, if you’ve already got Books 1 and 2, you can snag Book 3 as normal. You won’t have to buy the other two again in the “box set” just to read the third book. That’d be a jerk move on my part. And, that’s not what I’m about. I want to write stories that people like. Then get them to the people in as many ways possible. I JUST WANT EVERYBODY HAPPY OKAY?

That’s it for today’s announcements. Be watching, though. I’ve got release dates to announce, covers to reveal, and books releasing soon. So, stay tuned. There’s a lot happening in the next month.

Also, don’t forget about Kevin (my science fiction, and first, book). It’s been nominated for a Summer Indie Book Award! Voting opens up September 1st and I’ll be posting more about that when the time comes.

See you soon! Author out.

A Few Days to Haunted!

New paranormal book by K.D. Reed, Haunted

There’s a struggle brewing within Sam. A demon loves him, but he’s unsure of what to do about it. And now, he’s taking Delilah to meet his family. It’s supposed to be the perfect weekend in a rented cabin. With his cheerful mom, moderately religious father, a sister that’s nothing but question marks, and his demon girlfriend, what could go wrong?  Then, weird things start happening. Sam’s family is in danger. His hope rests with Delilah. But, can he trust her?

Haunted is in its final edit right now! Only a few more days, and the next chapter of Demonic Illusions will be available!

Book 1 Demonic Impulse is only $.99 Not even a dollar! Haunted will be the same. Very excited that I can bring these to you for such a low price. And! Book 3 is on its way! It’s being drafted as we speak.

So snag your copy of Demonic Impulse so you’re up to speed.

See you in a few days!

Redesign. Because you know…

Demonic Impulse (redesign)-4

Yay! A much better cover for Demonic ImpulseI’m awaiting for it to appear on Amazon’s listing for the book, but sooner or later it’ll show up. Quite happy with it. Now we’ve got some continuity with Haunted, and I’ve already got the elements I want for book 3 in the works.

It’s going to be cool.

Or hot. Whatever. You know what I mean.

Actually, it’s going to be more… electric.

Enjoy!

Haunted Cover Reveal!

Haunted (cover 1)

Haunted the next book in the Demonic Illusions series is currently in formatting. In a few short weeks it will be available for purchase!

I’m particularly excited for this one. I really had to work hard for the story to come together, while setting up book 3. For me, I usually let the story happen. Taking as long as necessary to let everything fall into place slowly, over time. But! I promised readers the next book soon and I’d hate to let you guys down. You mean the world to me. You’re why I do what I do.

So! Here it is! Almost. Just a little while longer…

I also did a cover redesign for Demonic Impulse (book 1) and will be posting it soon. Keep an eye out for that.

Thanks for reading!

Not For the Faint of Heart

Demonic Impulse Quote 2

Have you checked out Demonic Impulse yet? Brace yourself. It’s not cute. It’s not fluffy.

It’s rough. It’s twisted. It’s dark.

And it’s packed with brutal honesty.

It’s even a bit sultry.

I’d love to know if any of you have read it. I also love discussing the ideas in my works, so comment below for some jazzy conversation.

Thanks for reading!

Now on sale!

We’re a day early. Which is AWESOME.

You can click the image above, or the image on the sidebar to see the listing and make your fine purchase.

Sam finally gathered the courage to approach the hottest girl he’s ever seen. He didn’t know she was a demon. Illusions, possessions, and a blood signed contract now navigate his life. The demon needs something only Sam can give her. She’s promised him everything he’s ever wanted. Will it be worth it?

Demonic Impulse is thrilling, juicy, and not for the faint of heart.

As I said before, I’m immensely proud of how this turned out. After a day of outlining, and only a few weeks of writing, things just seemed to fall into place for Sam and Delilah. I’m eager to continue their story.

I never thought I’d be a “horror” writer. But it’s too much fun, and too intense to leave alone. I’m quite excited about where it’s taking me. It’s almost addictive.

I cannot thank everyone enough for supporting me, both with writing in general and with Demonic Impulse. Even you, blog reader. I feel your love and encouragement. (Wow, that escalated to sappy quicker than I intended)

Thank You 1

Better be off, now. Book two isn’t going to write itself.

Pinterest & Me

I am quite the Pinterest user. I’m on it all the time. Some say it’s an unhealthy addiction, but I don’t heed that kind of toxic talk. They’re just jealous of my awesome Pinterest skills.

Any who! The point is, I use it frequently when writing to stir up my creative juices. It helps to look at what I’m talking about. Let me illustrate that point a little:

I have many Pinterest boards for my books. I have a New York board for Kevin, I have a complete collection of what seems like randomness to others for Maia, and I have a Delilah board for my Demonic Illusions series.

Delilah is the demon in the series (debuting  in Demonic Impulse due out this weekend, January 9th) and she’s really fun. To help me understand/visualize/have more fun with her, I created a Pinterest board to refer to. It’s great! I can pin things I want to mention about her. I can go back to it, and remind myself about a certain trait. Sometimes, I just scroll through it, to kick off the dust if it’s been a few days since I visited her story.

It’s not just Sam’s story, it’s her story too. That’s what makes this book so great. There’s double, almost conflicting, views to everything.

The point of me prattling on about all of this is twofold:

  1. As a writer, Pinterest can be an awesome tool. I highly recommend it to others for help. Also, it’s a fun way to explore your character, settings, or to find all sorts of writing advice. I’m there all the time for work related pins.
  2. If you want, you can check out my aforementioned boards, or just get to know me a little better, or follow me. I’m quite active there.

Here’s an example:

Delilah Eye

That’s a cool inspiration image I found for Delilah.

Fire Escape

This set me in the perfect mood when I was revising Kevin.

Thumbelina and Swallow

I love this. Maia is a retelling of Thumbelina. This illustration warms my heart, since my focus often centers on her relationship with the swallow. So great.

You get the idea. (And you can click the images to view the Pinterest boards.)

Keep an eye out for Demonic Impulse. I’m really excited, and quite proud of it. And fellow writers, do try Pinterest for career related assistance. I cannot rave about it enough.
